| Laser Targeting: The device emits a laser beam, which helps to target the specific area on the object or surface from which the temperature will be measured. It's important to note that the laser itself does not measure temperature; it's simply a visual aid for aiming.
Infrared Detection: The thermometer contains an infrared sensor that detects and measures the amount of infrared radiation emitted by the object. The sensor can detect a wide range of infrared wavelengths.
Temperature Calculation: Once the infrared radiation is detected, the thermometer uses the sensor data to calculate the temperature of the object. This calculation is based on the Stefan-Boltzmann law, which relates the intensity of the emitted radiation to the temperature of the object.
Display: The calculated temperature is then displayed on the screen of the thermometer. Some models may also provide additional features such as a backlight, adjustable emissivity settings, or the ability to store temperature readings. |
